Sean Verney
General Manager

Westin New York At Times Square General Manager Sean Verney brings more than two decades of hospitality and business development experience to his role.

A seasoned hotelier, Sean has spent most of his career with Starwood Hotels and Resorts in New York City. Previously General Manager of the Sheraton Parisippany, he worked in a variety of positions at the Sheraton New York Times Square and the Sheraton Manhattan.  This diversity of operations experience contributes to the wealth of knowledge and depth of his hospitality expertise. 

Sean has participated in a number of trainings with Starwood, including Six Sigma Green Belt and Certified Trainer. He was honored with the recognition of Manhattan Manager of the Year at the Sheraton New York Times Square.  He also proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Sean oversees 873 rooms, 34,000 square feet of meeting space and a team of more than 500 associates.



Alexandra Walsh
Director of Sales and Marketing

Alexandra Walsh brings tremendous hospitality expertise and a proven track record in driving results to her role as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Westin New York at Times Square.

Prior to joining the Westin New York at Times Square, Alex was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing of Sheraton on the Park in Sydney, Australia and previously held the role of Director of Sales.  Alex is a long-time hospitality executive, previously serving as the Manager of Global Sales for Starwood Hotels global property portfolio. 

Alex holds a Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management from Southern Cross University, Queensland, and a diploma of Hospitality Management from the International College of Tourism & Hotel Management in Manly, Sydney. 



Marcus N. Ong
Director of Sales

With over 18 years with Marriott International & Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Marcus Ong leads the charge for Group, Leisure and Corporate sales at The Westin New York at Times Square, an 873-room luxury hotel in the heart of Manhattan’s famed Times Square. As Director of Sales, he oversees the team responsible for business development of groups, banquets, city-wide conferences, and domestic and international markets.

An experienced sales professional, Ong was previously the Senior Sales Executive at the New York Marriott Marquis where he was responsible for large, complex group conventions covering key territories and markets. Marcus has a wide ranging of sales experience, previously working as Senior Account Executive for Marriott’s Northeast Area Sales Team where he oversaw a portfolio of Global Sales Accounts and gained his luxury experience as a Senior Sales Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Battery Park. Prior to that Ong held Sales positions at the Marriott East Side, the Marriott’s New York City Regional Sales Office and the Renaissance Hotel in White Plains.

Ong is a native New Yorker and holds a Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management from Boston University.



Craig Reid
Executive Chef

Westin New York At Times Square Executive Chef Craig Reid brings passion, creativity and more than 20 years of experience to the table.

A hospitality veteran, Craig has worked for some of New York City’s top restaurants and hotel companies including Pier Sixty/The Light House, Hyatt Hotels and Sheraton Hotels. Craig honed his skills at The Culinary Institute of America.

As Executive Chef at the Westin, Craig oversees food and beverage programming for hotel outlets including In-Room Dining and the all-new Foundry Kitchen & Bar.
