City Running Tours New York Routes
Choose from over 20 different tours or we will create a customized run for you so that you can continue a training regimen or see specific sites. All of the routes can be lengthened or shortened to fit your mileage. Below are a few of our favorites:
Bridge Run – 8 miles
See the many different cultures throughout New York City. Travel from Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge through the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. Run under the subway tracks over the Williamsburg Bridge back into Manhattan.
Experience true diversity as we run through each section of New York City's most famous street. From the battery to Inwood and everything in between. Run through the bloodline of what keeps the city pumping!
- 13.3 mile run to Northern Tip
- 8.4 mile run to 125th Street
- 7.5 mile run to 110th Street
- 4.9 mile run to Columbus Circle
Brooklyn Run – 10 miles
Run from Greenwood Cemetery, which was the inspiration for Central Park, to Brooklyn's Prospect Park. Experience nature within the city as the designers of Central Park created another spectacular oasis for locals to escape. Then, run through the brownstones and townhouses in Brooklyn Heights to the Promenade and eventually over the Brooklyn Bridge. Greenwood Cemetery and Prospect Park only – 5.5 miles
Central Park offers many scenic distractions while providing a challenge to runners of all levels. Choose from one of the following courses:
- 6.1 mile Loop – Run with the local New Yorkers and take your chances on the rolling hills and scenic pathway forming a challenging and interesting course.
- 5 mile Run – From the beautiful centerpiece of the Park, Bethesda Terrace, to the more rustic charm of the the Ramble, the Great Lawn and the Reservoir, experience Central Park change from festive fountains and beautiful arches to serene retreat all in the space of a few city blocks. Run includes the Zoo, Conservatory Waters and Strawberry Fields.
- 4 mile Ramble Run – See what the inside of Central Park is all about. Get lost in the wooded Ramble as you run through the Great Lawn and around the Reservoir.
- 1.58 mile Reservoir Run – The Reservoir track offers some of the best skyline views in the Park and many scenic opportunities. An essential part to any springtime run; see the cherry trees along the gravel path in bloom.
Downtown – 6.6 miles
Run along the Hudson River to the southern tip of Manhattan. Take Broadway up through the Canyon of Heroes to the Brooklyn Bridge. Run over the bridge into Downtown Brooklyn, back over the Manhattan Bridge as you look at the skyline back into Manhattan. Finish the run through parts of Chinatown and Little Italy.
- 7.2 mile Greenwich Village Run - Take a tour of one of the most exciting sections of Manhattan. Go from the quaint streets of the West Village to the eccentric vibe throughout the East Village. Experience culture, art, music and a history of what makes New York City great.
- 4.8 mile East Village Run – Includes parts of SOHO and the Lower East Side.
- 5.1 mile West Village Run – Includes parts of Tribeca, SOHO and the Lower West Side.
Harlem Run - 8.3 miles
Enjoy a scenic run where beauty is represented through the heritage and growth of cultural diversity. Starting and finishing at the west 110th Street entrance of Central Park,the Harlem Run covers sections of northern Manhattan and the Bronx including Harlem, Washington Heights, Morningside Heights. Run includes Columbia University and a run around Yankee Stadium. 5.4 mile run if you start at 125th Street
Lower East Side – 5 miles
Experience old New York at its best as we take you through a section of the city with generations of history. Run the ethnically diverse neighborhoods of the Lower East Side and see some of the real undiscovered treasures of New York City, including many of the original tenement buildings. See the influence of the immigrant cuisine; from the Dumplings House to Katz's Deli, this neighborhood is like no other.
New York Run – 8 miles
Get a taste of New York City, ideal for first time visitors to the city, start in Brooklyn and run over the Brooklyn Bridge and continue your way through the Financial District, Chinatown, Little Italy, SoHo, the Village, Gramercy, Times Square, Central Park and much more.
Saturday Night Fever Run – 9 miles
Run the streets that John Travolta walked as he played Tony Monero in Saturday Night Fever. We will take you through the Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst sections of Brooklyn where Tony lived, worked and danced the night away! "Can you dig it, I knew that you could!"
Note: This is a weekend only run because of length of time. Please plan for at least three hours.
Uptown Run – 7 miles
Take a run along the beautiful Hudson River seeing a forgotten part of New York City. See the breathtaking views as we head north into the Inwood section of Manhattan. Run through Fort Tyron Park as you experience both city and landscape. Then head back to the city streets and see some of the oldest residences in Manhattan. Includes a run around Yankee Stadium.
West Side Run – 5 miles
A rural and city experience. We start your run at the Bethesda Terrace in Central Park heading west through Strawberry Fields onto 72nd Street towards the Hudson River. Upon arrival to the Hudson, the route heads north through Riverside Park up to 96th Street where we head back into Central Park. As we enter the park, we continue through the inside trails back to the Finish.
